British Library

Went to the British Library Sunday afternoon.  What a treat!  My colleague described it as a jewel.  The exhibits there were outstanding and free!  "Out Of This World" was a science fiction exhibit that concentrated on its evolution as a literary genre.  From, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (Clay, remember that one?) to George Orwell's 1984, etc.

One of the permanent exhibitions there houses some incredible texts and documents.  The Magna Carta (only 4 copies survived),  a Gutenberg Bible (1450, only 21 copies exist); Leonardo's Notebooks and writings from the Beatles.

The library is very close to the St. Pancres Rail Station (not the organ). This is the train station that serves most of Europe.  It looks a lot like a very busy airport inside but it is a spectacular building.  Pics are below.

Taught class today and will be heading to Greenwich and the Globe tomorrow.

Bye for now!
